The buttercream ruffles are achieved by hand piping the buttercream in delicate layers around the edges of the tiers, changing the shade of tint of the buttercream gradually to give an ombre effect. The cake was presented on an iced cake board and finished with ribbon.
I love delivering wedding cakes as it is wonderful to see the venue all set-up and see how your cake fits with the theme and colours the bride and groom have chosen. Nick and Emma had chosen a lovely village hall overlooking a village green as the venue for their reception. The sun was shining after a week of dreary rain as I arrived to set-up. They had done a wonderful job of decorating their venue with coloured lanterns strung from the ceiling, and fresh flowers on the tables.
'Jam and Tea' were setting up their High tea on vintage cake stands, which looked scrummy!
